About Us

waterfall by Steve WaterhouseERCCIS is the official Local Environmental Records Centre for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, working to collate, manage and disseminate biological and geological information and working with local and national biological recorders and conservation organisations for the better conservation of the county.

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are blessed with an exceptional natural environment. Current, relevant and comprehensive information concerning the state of this environment is essential if we are to safeguard it for future generations.

Using state of the art and nationally recognised data management and digital mapping software packages, ERCCIS can provide a wide range of services to aid better informed biological and geological recording, conservation management, research and sustainable development of the Cornish landscape and seascape.
