Ancient Woodland Indicators

Common Cow-wheat

ERCCIS recorder workshop events scheduled to take place over the next 12 weeks (up until 15th June) have been postponed to keep everyone safe and well, due to medical advice and the developing path of COVID19. Please sign up to our ERCCIS Workshop News mailing list or check our ERCCIS Facebook page help us to keep you updated.

Some species of woodland ground flora require hundreds of years to become well established, so their presence becomes an indicator of the woodland's longevity. In this workshop we take a look at the species in Cornwall which can be used as ancient woodland indicators and learn how to identify them. This will include a practical session in Devichoys Wood.
