Working with our volunteers and using data held by ERCCIS we have produced a series of introduction guides to some of the species groups found in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, including Mammals, Reptiles, Spiders (Araneae) and Dragonflies and Damselflies (Odonata).

Each guide provides information about identification and ecology of the species, their current known distribution, how extensively they are recorded and where you can get further help. We hope that these offer an interesting introduction to the species group and encourage you to start recording. These introductory guides and resources are free to download and an excellent starting place to learn about some of the species found in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

If you have any suggestions for further introduction guides please contact us.

The Wildlife Information Service (WIS), run by ERCCIS, acts as the first point of call for anyone wanting to enquire about wildlife in Cornwall. Acting as a one-stop-shop, WIS allows you quick and effective access to the wealth of information, experience and knowledge available at ERCCIS.
